Please update the archives to contain the works of one Frank "Kiddus I" Dowding. I would like to know more of his lyrical work. He is featured in Rockers, and I have tracks he sings on produced by one Lee 'Scratch' Perry.

Dave,
I too am interested in seeing what 'KIDDUS I' has recorded and what has been released. I've only got one 12" on Shepherd (JA) and it's a discomix classic!
TOO FAT - (KIDDIS I 2213 A BS RRS)
SECURITY IN THE STREETS - (DSR 5363 A DT T WORLD)
Not mentioned on the disc or the picture sleeve cover but this was recorded at Black Ark and apparently mixed by Lee Perry.
7" CRYING WOLF (Shepherd) - don't have any more detail on this one except it too was recorded at Black Ark (with mixing by Lee Perry?)
Kiddus I first recorded two tracks with Family Man at Joe Gibbs - "Careful How You Jump" and "By The Sweat" but these songs were strangely never released. Jack Ruby recorded Kiddus I and that one off track "Graduation In Zion" appeared on the movie soundtrack "Rockers".
I don't know of any other Kiddus I recordings.
Any chance you list what you have and see what others might add?

Crying Wolf
Crying Wolf Version
Prophecy
Security In The Streets 12"
Love Child
Graduation In Zion
Too Fat 12"
I have read that Frank 'Kiddus I' Dowding moved on to perform in discotech's after seperating fromt he Rockers movement. How true this is, I am not sure. Though I would love to hear the Family Man tracks you speak of. Glad someone recognizes this tallent.

Pablo and Dave -
don't know if my list is complete, so check for yourself. There are known releases of Kiddus I as Keatus I too which are
Living in Illusion 7" on Jah Dynasty
Prophecy 7" on King Culture
Time 7" on Shepherd
and as Kiddus I
Dreadlocks I 7" on Arab
Harder 7" on Shepherd
Jah Children Cool 7" on Jah Dynasty

Apart from the known Lee Perry productions and the KingCulture track all were selfproduced.

It is remarkable that you have seen the forum I started, and I am honoured to have you reply to this. I would be very interested in hearing the 7" records that Bellyman speaks of. I did not beleive the rumour of disco, and I am glad you cleared it up. I hope to purchase the album you are working on now in the future. Much respect.
Peace
