Hello All
I want to start with a brief introduction, my name is Raul and im a reggae producer that is starting out. Ive been in a few bands, the experience was great, but i no longer have the time due to travel etc. I want to start a discussion on reggae composition....ive been having a few questions about bass patters in songs...alot of the most famous songs have pretty much the same repetitive bass line....what do the bass players think about that? Is there a formula such as 2 changes in the bass line through the song, 3 or 4? I recently bough Logic Pro X i love it....used reason and pro tools before that. Logic is a lot easier to me. Anyways....i have a few questions to people that are already producing...such as when do fills come in for drums? I do a lot of studying theres not a lot of information out there on reggae music...all i know I've taught myself including playing, keys, guitar, trumpet bass, and digital drums on the keyboard...that is basically all for now....one more thing...im looking into buying a VST/AU maybe KOMPLETE 10. I work with the current sounds that come with logic, they sound pretty decent. not too bad...just want more drum sounds, more keyboard sounds, more realistic bass and trumpets im a huge fan of natural sounds, i mostly inspire from 80s era roots reggae, 80's digital. Any help would be appreciated guys.
Thank you All.
