Maybe re-recorded in 83, but the original Studio 1 single was out in 71.

Dennis was first. Gregory reworked it later for Joe Gibbs as 'Babylon Too Rough' (Belmont). Gregory's version was revived in recent times on Joe Gibbs Record Globe as 'Easy Take It Easy'.

Listen the drumbeat is dancehall so its a 80s prod but... sound like if coxsone add the drum on the older version. Its fast enough to be a 71 prod...
Never heard that 71 version, if anybody can post a sample, coud be great...
There is a third early 80s dancehall cut by Dennis, released as DISCOMIX only, that is for me, as good as the studio one cut.

The first Dennis Brown version is a 7" Studio One single. It definitely sounds like 1971 and is not 80s dancehall. From memory I think there was a later Studio One Remix with syn drums and a tweeting bird sound that ruined it.
Larry Marshall also cut "You Don't Care" on the same (original without the syn drums)rhythm for Studio One and you can find that on the album Presenting Larry Marshall.
