Sad , sad day yesterday when the news of Rico's passing reached my ears . Massive respect to this legend whose life and music , spanning decades , has been an Inspiration to my life . Ska , rocksteady , reggae - he was the trombone man !
Kind regards to his family - " That Man Is Forward " ... to Zion ....

Yes indeed. The passing of another legend in Rico Rodriguez. A pity that in his passing he's gathered more attention off the music / news media than when he was alive and with that large ska and reggae material. Many outlets mention his working with the special a.k.a / specials (and rightly so) But he was also a solo artist and leader of a group beforehand (Rico,Rico Rodriguez and Rico and the Rudies) . At least he got some attention, I guess. R.I.P. Rico.

I love his 'Tribute To Don Drummond' album. Might have to play that again now that I've thought about it.
RIP.

Very sad news!
Once again, because in recent years it seems those Reggae musicians keep dying like flies.
Hopefully he will blow in heaven from now on.
