Its a nice selection but apart from "Rock A Dub" it has all been reissued on CD before.

Also "Musical Dub Attack" is out on CD. Picked it up yesterday, this is a nice reissue, it sounds great and comes in a nice gatefold sleeve.

It would be nice to see some reissues of music that has not been reissued before. Even all these new Trojan (Sanctuary) titles that have resurfaced have been issued before.

Sorry to sound negative but personally I`m a bit disappointed in these latest releases as I already have them. But I do appreciate it is good news for others.

I can understand that for those of you that have been around collecting Reggae a long time (and I would think that is the majority of you here) this is nothing new and not very exciting. But me, I have only been collecting Reggae a little over 10 years, so it is different.

Albums like *Night Food* and *Reggae Got Soul* have not been around on CD on proper releases in a long time, and all of these Island and Frontline reissues that are coming out at the moment also have bonus tracks, so even though I have them on vinyl I look forward to these. The Glen Brown compilations likewise have been out of print for a long time and are rare, especially on CD, and even though I have much of it via the two Hot Pot *Rhythm Masters* releases I will jump on them. The Abyssinians compilation is potentially interesting, but I am not sure what will be on it (seems it also is on a Universal label). I even like many of the reissued Trojan/Sanctuary CDs, even though they are just repressings, because some of those titles again have been very rare and expensive (Paragons *On the Beach* for one).

I don't think one should expect too much brand new, previously unreleased material from these labels (Universal, BMG or even VP), hopefully other labels will take care of that department. :-)

About Burning Sounds, rumour has it that more interesting titles are coming in the future...

I think some may be forgetting that many of these re issues have loads of bonus material included , in some cases your getting an extra albums worth of music with these bonus tracks...so no dissapointments here for me......& I've been collecting since the early 80's:)

99TH FLOOR I have just had an email from Ebay saying that the Abyssinians Arise is also coming/available on a double CD issue....I can't order a copy as the seller doesn't ship to my country. Have you seen/heard any info on this 2CD set which I'm assuming is different from the Carloine reissue?

cheers

No, I have only seen or heard about the one linked to above. That sounds strange... Where are you seeing this (I looked on eBay)? I know there is also a new Japanese reissue (there is a whole series that has just come out), but I think that is just the main album.
