After a likkle Ernest Ranglin discussion on the Off Topic,I have to think again how little appreciated the instrumentalists are as opposed to the singers,just check out Ernie's entry to prove this .How about Top Five instumentalists,like the Top Five Guitarists,

they all got their own style, I love all the 70's players of instruments. But if I have to choose between big ones I'd say cedric brooks more than tommy mckook, carlton barrett more than dunbar, rico more than don drummond.

Lennie Hibbert has a couple of very good instrumental l.p's.
Sugar Belly playing a home-made bamboo sax among other things is right up there too...
