just a random question, i was wondering if i spent excessive amounts on vinyl per months or if you guys tend to spend more?

i'd say this month i have spent £250 and probabilly got around 40/50 tunes for that (which is more then i'd usually spend in a month but found a lot of tunes that i 'couldnt pass me by')

so how much roughly do you guys spend a month? week or whatever, just interested to see if im becoming a 'record buying addict' heh.

100bucks in 3months prolly it depends whats good and if the price is right.. dont spend much when you have alot of important bills to pay.. vinyl just a hobby.. i wont lie sometimes i feel like saying fuck it i see all my vinyls..

Particularly when you haven't been buying any reggae for 20 odd years and then "stumble" across an awesome site like this!!!!

I collect on and off. Once I'm caught up on stuff I never knew about(thanks to this website) and reissues, I take a break for months without buying anything. However, just these past 6 to 8 months, I must have spent about 800 dollars on reggae.

Well, my wife doesn't read this site but she does check my buying totals on ebay so I can't hide the fact that it says I have spent UK Pounds 1250 in the last 60 days.

I've maybe spent 500 a month on reggae for the last 6 months and maybe 2 - 300 a month in the 18 months prior to that.

Far far too much on stuff that used to cost 50p a disk in the Notting Hill record and tape exchange just 20 years ago.

But I DO play it all, I play my vinyl every single day as much as I can as loud as I can (which is VERY very loud....)

I would love to get out and DJ with it but sleepy Lincoln hasn't quite woken up to roots rock reggae - YET!

At what point do you think this vinyl buying qualifies as a compulsive disorder?

My wife thinks that getting several versions of the same LP just because they are on different labels qualifies...

Well... since 2003 i wasn't buying not even one single 7", due to lack of financial resources. Just got back collecting about three months ago, and since i finally got a little extra money i already bought my own gifts for christmas

let's say that i started buying loads of tunes these 3 months, just to compensate the years without buyng...

so, that means that these last 3 months i've spent about U$ 1000.00 per month (about U$ 2.000,00 only this month)

That's just because i received some extra money from a insurance, but i know i won't be able to buy that much every month...

Let's say that i would be very pleased if i could save U$ 500.00 every month to spend on records... that's my goal for 2007! hope i can make it...

... I am making up for 20 years without buying records and for stupidly selling them all 20 years ago....

I have the booming UK property market to thank for this reggae spree as without making some good money on a house recently my little income would never support this ridiculous spending!
