You should be able to find more info on the web if you make some search for those artists.

Zap Pow is probably one of the most underrated bands out of Jamaica as I see it, a very competent bunch of musicians, had hits like This Is Reggae Music, a favorite of Bob Marley. They did LPs for Trojan, Harry J and one for Island. For some time in the 70s they had Beres Hammond as lead singer, a very versatile repertoire, but if they played roots it was just as excellent as the uptown reggae.

Tappa (or Tapper, even Topper) Zukie is a deejay but just as known as producer, perhaps even more prolific as producer than a deejay, he has done excellent records with the likes of Junior Ross & The Spears, Prince Alla, Knowledge, Errol Dunkley, Alton Ellis and Horace Andy, also modern digital records with U Roy, Beres Hammond, Heptones. Check for him on the Archives, his LP MPLA is rereleased on CD, probably his best effort as a deejay.

Ras Pidow was (is?) a Rasta elder who did some poetry albums for the RAS label. I haven't heard them.

Ras Pidow was one of the recognized elder of the Haile Selassie I Nyabinghi Order Theocracy Reign. A man who spoke of wisdom and very humble man. Sadly Ras Pidow died in 2001 in baltimore,md.

Give thanks.

I got "modern antique" now, its a nice poet album (with Roots Radics!!!), sound as Ram Sam Brown "teacher" but more serious and very better sound quality, roots lovers need it!

Indeed Ras,

Modern Antique is a must have album because it tells you the whole reason about roots music and that is the message of rastafari.

give thanks.
