"Money Maker" Studio One LP

Ok, so I bought this on CD
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Money-Maker-Co ... ney+makers
Well I wasn't sure what to expect knowing the quality of some of the Studio One reissues but this CD is excellent. It has excellent sound, comes in a gatefold sleeve with the original front and back album artwork and some reasonable if not very informative liner notes.
Anyway, can anyone tell me the source of this reissue. I have been told it is licenced through Dub Store Records in Japan but there is no indication of this anywhere on the packaging. It only states that it is Studio One and gives a Matric SOR-002 and release date as 1970 (Amazon state 2016).
Well its pricked my interest to know if there are any others Studio One titles in this series that are already issued or are to be released.
Anyone out there with information? It would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

150 titles? Now that sounds interesting and expensive.
Reissuing the rare "Money Maker" on CD and LP is an impressive start, hopefully they will continue in the same vein.
In my opinion there are so many great titles in the Studio One catalogue that need to be given a good quality CD release and these gatefold sleeve editions with the original album artwork is definitely the way to go.

Actually they started with *The Wailing Wailers*. Here is the website:

Quoted from the site: *Future 2016 releases from Studio One include the* **Studio One Radio Show** *taken from two 1970’s shows featuring the legendary host Winston “The Whip” Williams. Also available will be a* **Don Drummond** *collection compiled by Mr. Dodd himself before his passing in 2004 and a box set to celebrate the label’s over 60 years of existence.*

I ordered and received both the Wailers and Money Maker lps. The Wailers lp isn't an incredible audio experience but at least it's clean. The album came from Amazon and was stuffed in a too small box with another item and the corner was crushed in. Bummer.
The MM comp is great. My only complaint: it's too short! Ah the savage injustice: not enough sweet, sweet S1 music. I ordered this directly from the Studio One website.
I'm curious how the deal with Soul Jazz will continue. Or will it? Are they considered catering to a different slice of the global pie or are they dealing with the loss of the catalog?

These Yep Roc releases seem to be for the American market only, they're not sold in Europe, except as imports. Since Chris Wilson is on board I see it as a sort of continuation of Heartbeat (I think some other guys involved were previously with Heartbeat too), and I guess it will work like in the past, with different labels licensing for different territories, Soul Jazz in UK/EU and Heartbeat (and now Yep Roc) in the US.

Yes there has been a Money Maker release in the past with extra tracks but this one hasn't got those

All interesting. Wouldn't it be great to have a cleaned up release of the Presenting The Gladiators lp and the early Sugar Minott releases? Geez, I guess I'm getting ahead of myself here. Looking forward to any decent S1 material and the nice quality of the two sets so far has been pretty decent indeed.

Yes, *Presenting the Gladiators* should be a top priority, all releases of it have issues. Sugar's *Live Loving* has never been on CD as far as I know, so would be another great choice.
I put forth *Bob Andy's Songbook* and Freddie McKay's *Picture On the Wall* as other candidates for re-release.

Hardly ever see Carlton and The Shoes' Love Me Forever set in even repress. I think there was a CD issued of that. That would be a sweet set. Crazy idea: just imagine issuing Pirate's Choice in a pristinely mastered, deluxe presentation. One can probably only dream.
