Artists you keep (or kept) mistaking for one another

I hope the topic title is correct English... Almost every time I hear Sammy Dread I think it is Michael Prophet, for a short time at least, until I realize it. It's been like this for years and now sometimes it is even the other way around. I hear a "new" Michael Prophet tune and think "no no no I don't fall for this again - that must be Sammy Dread now."

Also when I started listening to reggae in the early 90s, I was convinced that Lee Perry's "Soul Fire" was sung by Bob Marley.

I was listening to a Frankie Jones LP "Dance Cork" & could of sworn some tracks were being sung by Sugar Minott!

In my first years of listening to reggae it was difficult for me to distinguish certain DJs. Sometimes because of their voices, sometimes because of a similar style. I remember mixing up Toyan and Jah Thomas: similar voice and style and on top of this same riddims.
