in fact reggae bands exist in senegal but are not as hot as say the reggae acts in ivory coast or ghana.but there was lately a young senegalese who unfortunately died tragicly mlast year and who started really to give the music an impulse:he was called "akiboulane" and the band still exists in memory of him.there has been some acts like dread maxim,iba gaye safara bi amandla who tried their hands and made some releases who were not that popular
maybe if you give me your mailing adress ican send you one of these weeks an mp3 of senegalese reggae that you will share with people in this forum
besides,there was a short-lived senegalese band which signed to island records in 1989 and which released "soweto man"which was a very good album which enjoyed relative success,but opened for misty in roots 1990 tour.
