Surprised this album is not mentioned nowhere on this forum. This is a refreshing album done by a reggae artist of today, Im sure some of you have heard of Bitty McLean. And I know a lot of you will love this album. The entire album is Bitty McLean singing over original rare Treasure Isle tracks by the Supersonics and Tommy McCook. Released in 2004, a new era reggae album done old school style with no digital. Bitty McLean did a awesome job of writing and adding lyrics to these riddims. What a great album this is, I can listen to every single song and just appreciate the vocals, instruments, and riddims. I wish todays artist would do more of these types of albums.

I gues it's not on here because it doesn't strictly speaking come from the correct era covered by this site.

I know the release of the album is not in the correct era. But since it is riddims and actual sounds and players from the 60s and early 70s era, wouldn't you say it can be worth mentioning on this forum.


You dont need to link me to what this website is about. Re-read my post, I stated FORUMS not WEBSITE...big differance. I know damn well Bitty McLean should not be listed on the website.

Anyways, you seem to miss the point of my post..not sure why you want to knit pick on that part of my post. I thought it would be clear enough for people to comprehend what I mean with out going in to a full novel of my complete thoughts. All I am saying is, give it a listen...since most people in here do not listen to newer albums and may over look this album.

I'm gonna try listening to this album, althoug i know treasure isle and old skool ska and rocksteady riddims are not my favorites.

But since u've put together this topic, i'd like to ask to you all some other suggestions for albums recorded in the 90's or 2000's, with new lyrics sang over old riddims (from 60's/70's/early 80's)...

I just love Thompson Productions, so i just couldn't forgot to mention YAMI BOLO's album on the short lived ROOTS FOUNDATION label entitled "HEALING OF ALL NATIONS"... All killer RADICS/THOMPSON riddims immortalized by the Viceroys, Barrington Levy, Freedie McGregor, and many others.... this Yami's album was recorded (i mean, voiced over...) and released in 2002, if my memory's still good....

Keep in mind that i'm not talking about represses, but new lyrics recorded over old riddims....
