I only wish that there was a biography section for the artists. Otherwise, I think it perfect.

Some times it is better to specialise on the Internet. The place is so vast that even niche interests get lots of coverage. So taking a niche within that niche is a good way to ensure popularity and even exclusivity.

To stick to a specific format is a clever move by the site Admins.

It's a database. There's properly researched facts, playlists, artists, players of instrument, matrix numbers and exhaustive label and cover artwork.

Then there's a friendly and yet brisk forum that must be the envy of many wesbites.

It's also well designed, exceptionaly easy on the eye. Notice how the artwork and design compliments the facts. On some websites the design, the flashing banners and all other clutter detract from the real deal; the content.

Please just stick to doing the carefully thought out tweaks and improvements you've been doing over the past few years guys.

The only suggestions I would make would be to the FORUM ...

I would like to have the ability to

FIND PREVIOUS POSTS by others/myself as sometimes I remember something I/someone posted but cannot remember the thread, which makes it hard to find.

And maybe have small AVATARS so it easier to recall who posted something
and to personalize the forum a bit.

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING selecta bing

small AVATARS we could ALL use on the forum

would be great, it would personalise our use a

bit.

I would love an interactive section, where i

could post some of my rare reggae video clips for

everyone to enjoy, and an uploading page so i

share some music/sample music for you guys to

hear and injoy.

An uploads page may seem like a cool idea but it's a legal minefield that could lead the Mods into a whole heap a mess with the bully boys at the records companies. It will work with clips, but if we start using the place to trade music and films in the public eye Roots-Archives will go down faster than you can say law suit.

Avatars is a cool idea, but on other forums where this is done things can get out of hand. People load MASSIVE files as their avatars and slow the forum right down. It also gets misused, people posting pictures of things that others may find offensive, etc. I guess strict rules could be put in place to stop these practices.

I kind of like the simplicity of this site so I'm not asking for any changes, except of course yet more data, artwork and the planned addition of reviews of the music.

On my own brazilian website I'm working (that is pretty much based on RA's layout/design...) there'll be reviews of the albums added...

That's the only thing I can say I "miss" from this GREAT website... apart from that, i'd say it's the perfect source for roots reggae musik...

Like leggo said, it's simplicity makes it so brilliant! And of course, the huge amount of data.... that can always be improved...

Blessins and Nuff Respect to the RA crew!
