my question is the viceroys, freddie mcgregor, eek a mouse, and barrington levy, they all made an album in 1982, they all have the same riddims on their albums on "we must unite" "big ship" "very best of eek a mouse" and "poorman style" they all have the same riddim, my question is who made the riddims first ?

Linval Thompson Recording the rydims for his productions.
Let them voice over the rydims.

That is a Good question, as far as i know producers used to buy the riddims from the Radics when they were up for demand. Unfortunately or fortunately even the radics themselves said they never knew who the beats were made for. All they knew was they heard a beat they made for a certain producer and "x" singer or dee-jay is on it.

i honestly think the viceroys's "we must unite" was recorded first above all becuase if u really pay attention to the beats and the lyrics when the viceroys recorded it the lyrics and the riddims match exactly to their style, then when barrington levy recorded "poorman" style great album but horrible production, that album sounds fake, like linvaal thompson just added those riddims cause he couldnt think of anything else and when barrington levys lyrics was put on those riddims they dont even go together. u understand what im saying ?

i thought that too but listen to both of them and ull hear that it goes more with the viceroys for instance "love is a key" and "let me be the one" same riddim but when the viceroys sang over those riddims it sounds more original coming from them.

Possibly one way to figure out is the DUB VERSION on the scientist albums for example "they can't stop us now" version might be the viceroys first then barrington's "I Can't Wait Too Long"
