He was a really good producer in '70's and early '80's with Gladiators, U Roy, etc. and had the Jam Rock label. I haven't heard anything about him in a long time...anyone know what happened to him?

Did tony Robinson really produced all of those LP's that he put out on his various labels?
As I met the members of The gladiators at the local Reggae shop here in SD, Trade Roots.....
Albert Griffith himself told me how they were jacked out of the LP that TR released as "Reggae to Bone". they gave TR the tape to thier newly recorded sety of songs to listen to. Apparently he copied it without thier consent and released it before they later put it out on thier own.
What prompted Him to tell me this story is when I gave the the LP to sign...he laughed anad said let me tell you a story about this album .....

That very well may have happened, and I was surprised to learn that he had producer credits on that. But I'm pretty sure he was very involved in the Virgin releases such as Proverbial Reggae, etc. In fact in the Deep Roots doc I believe that's him at the board as the Gladiators are cutting "Hearsay".
