Greetings!
I went to Earl Zero's website (
http://www.earlzero.com/) and found that he has many more items listed than appear on this site. I am particularly interested in THE GREENWICH FARM SINGLES 1973-1978. Any one know what tracks are on it? I enjoy his work, but would like your opinion on this one. Any one order from Earl before, and if so how long did it take for you to get your stuff?
Respect,
Krawl

i wish alot more people would buy from the artists websites to give them some money due, i know burning spear doing all his own selling these day via his website, and alot of artists started doing this lately, i hope it starts a new trend, they deserve some money back for there work.
Another thing i know the tune Please Officer is titled Please, but i'm sure this was supposed to have been Police Officer and just got mis- labelled as most ja songs do!
Thats my fav Earl tune by the way, but there are a few different cuts to it, there is only one killa version.

"Police officer, you carry more guns than an aircraft carrier" hehe.. the guys still labels it Please Officer on the home-made covers you get with the cd (the "Earl Love Publishing address" being hand-written in the bottom-left corner of the back cover, so he did these himself...)

Please officer just doesn't make sense to me, but police officer makes alot of sense.
"Police Officer u think your a warrior, u carry more guns...."
I'm guessing the people that pressed the record originally labelled it please officer, so thats what the tune became known as, thats my theory anyway....
what u guys think.... i'd be interested to hear what verison is on this album u talking about, is it the faster killa version with more heavy bassline?

Ok, you made me check.
I have three versions of this song: it is titled "Please Officer" on his Visions of Love LP and the Greenwich Farm singles CD-R he's selling but "Police Officer" on the Greenwich Farm Discomix CD-R also available directly from him.
And the versions on his CD-Rs are the faster, heavier, tougher versions.
I agree that "Police Officer" makes more sense but I feel that "Please Officer" sounds better as a title.
Anyway, it would appear that he himself is not sure of the title as the covers for the Greenwich Farm Singles and Greenwich Farm Discomix are both definitely home-made and each has a different title for that song.

Since I'm re-checking both, I'd suggest you choose the Greenwich Farm Discomixes Big Krawl, mainly because I prefer my dubs straight after the song
It has the same six songs in extended mixes plus the Greensleeves 12" mixes of City of the Wicked and Righteous Work and 9 min "Epiphany 12" special mix" of None Shall Escape The Judgement.

Krawl,
I just ordered a CD directly from Earl Zero... did you end up ordering anything? I was wondering myself how long it would take to receive. But it should be worth the wait since it will be autographed by Z himself, a nice bonus.
Respects,
BC

I see he has "Earl Zero vs. The Offs" on sale. I like it a lot. Bought a copy from him (vinyl 12" EP) back in '81. It's a Roots-meets-Ska summit meeting kind of production. Two extended tracks, each about ten minutes long, with the first being more Roots and the second more Ska.
