why do you take the name of ranking trevor as the dj's of the 70's ?
or maybe it's your real name

i&i real name a Trevor

ranking trevor the dj is a good bredrin of mine, i use to chat pon the sound "Soul Attorney" with him.

i dj for many years 1971-1983.

from studio 1 - heathroots.

i grow up as a youthman inna trenchtown ghetto, den i move over negril for a while. Now i&i just a reside inna trenchtown.

trevor already explained to us on an earlier thread that he was the dj on the black star liner sound system in trenchtown together with one jah barry.

he also cited some sides he recorded which i'm trying to find presently - but so far without luck.

i imagine they'll be very diificult to find.

do you still own any of your own recordings, trevor? you know, dr alimantado mentions in the booklet to his house of singles compilation that he had to buy some of his own singles from dealers for upto 80 pounds.

its ironic that the artists often don't seem to own copies of their own work.

I find it hard to understand why you would use the same stage/performing name
as someone else....
It would be like if you were Roy and started calling yourself I ROY or U ROY.
Especially if you are a recording artist.
and especially if you worked with the ORIGINAL artist.

Did you record under that name too?

Inna the latter part of 70's i record as trevor ranking or ranking trevor bredrin.

Its just name that stuck with me.
