I'm a big fan of Eddy Grant, even though many people don't consider his music reggae. In fact, I think his musical diversity actually hurt his chances to be a bigger star (besides his hit "Electric Avenue").
His "Live at Notting Hill" has been one of my favorite albums since the 1980s. Does anyone else have it?

I also am a big fan ever since I started collecting reggae in '82 ( even though his music of course isn't reggae).Always loved his voice and way of songwriting.Do you have his latest cd I&I (Called Reparation)?.It's great!

i love eddy grant music too even though people have a tendency to judjing him unde the distorted crieria of rasta or reggae artists."his live at the notting hill gate"back in 1980 was also one of my favourites mostly"hello africa".i have once seen the video back in 1992.it used to mention senegal among all those african countries he mentioned including guinea bissao which is one of our neighboring countries
yes indeed a gret singer with the equals.i think he was living in santa monica;california last time i heard about him

he produced the worst album of the gladiators !!! even Albert Griffiths told that he does not know what is reggae music !! lol lol well Eddy grant has a good voice sure, but it's true Fadel to mentioned that he is NOT a reggae singer, he has his own style, his own music, a cross over between funk, diso, reggae,

and we have to approach him as a singer of another genre and not always see him under the distorted view of a reggae singer.just like when you listen to a mento or a calpso singer.

Hi Fellas,
Me and my sister called Margeret live here in India and we really love Eddy Grant. We play a cassette that was posted to me by my late friend George from America all the time. We play it every Saturday at the local Temple dance. All the people love it.
Chat real soon, you guys are great.
