Female backing vocals in the seventies

I am personnaly a great lover of male harmonies in reggae but it seems this style is getting rarer in reggae from today. Because probably of Marley's influence, reggae bands for example from Africa systematically use women on the backing vocals.
But apart from Marley and the I threes it seems quite rare during the roots era. When it happened it sounded quite nice. As a curiosity list the roots albums that are backed by women in the 70' and give your opinion on these vocals if you wish. Just a few ones in mind at this second:
>Judy Mowatt, Black Woman
>Fred Locks, Black Star Liner
>Capital letters, Headline news (if I remember well)
>I think Keith Udson used it also in songs like Darkest night
>IJahMan Are we a warrior, Africa
>(I don't mention Black Uhuru cause the female voice is very discreet and melt with the male ones)
