Why all the early 80s trading? (what about 70s?)

Greetings,
It seems that many of the most sought after records are from the early 80s at this time. Is this because most of the best 70s albums have already been re-released or have become so scarce that it is unrealistic to ever obtain them? There have been some decent albums I've found from 80-81... but they are few and far between. Two exceptions would be, The Mighty Threes - Africa Shall Stretch Forth Her Mighty Hand and Sons of Jah - Reggae Hit Showcase. Wicked, wicked roots!! I've moved both of these albums up onto my top roots-albums-of-all-time list. There's a lot of albums from this period that aren't as hard-hitting roots as those in the 70s. I'm just curious, as I hear a lot these days about the early 80s albums and most seem to be a bit of a disappointing once I get the record or hear a sound sample.
Roots!
