Necessary Mayhem Is proud to Welcome the living LEGEND BRINSLEY FORDE, former front man of the UK reggae super group ASWAD. Once again Curtis Lynch is at the production controls and delivers an excellent re make of the classic “General Rhythm” originally produced at studio 1 and most recently made popular by Donavon Jermaine’s Penthouse label. Brinsley is on point, showing his panache as he floats across the track with a classy revocal of Bubblin - the big hit for Aswad in the eighties. After a recent exclusive Podcast by Curtis aired on the 1Xtra Ras Kwame show, Bubblin has now become one of the most sort after tracks around.
Lloyd Brown & Tippa Irie are reunited once again lending their talents on the “General Rhythm”. The track “Stress” is a classic track that they first vocaled for the hit UK lovers rock label of the 90’s “Groove & A Quarter”. This version is set to be in high demand, one for all ages.
The “Ninja Gorgon” Riddim is based on a live stage show featuring the charismatic Ninja Man though out. The first to step up on this tune is Dready, a central member of the NM team he has featured on every rhythm that has been released on the label so far. This however is pitched as his best track yet. “Mad Dreadlocks” brings out his aggressive style and energetic flow and coupled with Dr. Dancehall Lynch’s production skills makes this track delectably infectious.
The last of the releases comes from a further integral player on the NM label Tippa Irie whose “ Lyric A Rhyme” is still beating down dancehalls across the globe. He now adds to his NM catalogue with the accomplished musical offering “Neighbour Next door”. As usual, Tippa takes on the role of storyteller with ease, enlightening us with tales of irate neighbours and all night parties. The tracks are available as two back-to-back seven inch vinyl records and are part of several albums currently in production from the Necessary Mayhem Label, including solo projects from Brinsley Forde, Tippa Irie (Talk The Truth) & Dready (Return Of The Dready)
