Can anyone tell me if there was ever a 12" version released of Earth & Stone's "Jah Will Cut You Down" AKA "Jailhouse Set Me Free"?

Yes there was, running time 6 minutes 22 seconds.

has anyone seen it rather than downloaded it? sorry to be suspicious but so many people talk about 12 inches when theyve just downloaded 2 sides of a 7" in one file & have no idea of how the original was.. (It happens a lot..)
If it does exist.. is it a different mix from the 7"?

My copy is a download but is definately on 12".
I was sent link to a selection of 10 Earth & Stone 12" singles by a member of the forum.
When I Downloded to my media player it identified the label that they were on etc.

I've never heard or seen a 12" version of that particular one and I do doubt a bit that there has been a discomix release of it. I'm not 100% percent certain though.

I do ot lie, I know what I saw on my media library. It definately identified it as a 12" single and what the label was.
If you want I will post the list of tracks that I was sent and they were all taken from 12" singles.
The guy on the site who sent it to me has been a collector since 1978 so I have no reason to doubt what he sent me.

Rootsman; Eaaasy, my friend. I'm not calling you a liar.
But the problem with just having a digital version is that it might as well just be the two sides of a 7" someone mixed together for their own enjoyment. And as I said, I'm not 100% sure that there isn't a disco but through all my years of checking their stuff I have yet to see it. It might have been released but then it's rarer than hens teeth. It would be nice to see the mystery unfold.

many many many people rename tracks as 12 inch when they have a dub on the end many times its just 2 sides of a 7" edited on a pc.. other times 2 sides of a 7" unedited with a gap & silence in between!!.. I am 99% sure this tune does not exist as 12", but would love to be proved wrong! and a label on an mp3 is not proof - TRUST NO ONE
