Rare reggae prices are suffering from rampant inflation.

Check this:

I need a better income.

Bank robbery maybe?

:D

That is the MUCH rarer version of the LP that is why it is so expensive. You should be able to find just the one called "ITAL DUB" (not the much rarer Sounds & System version) for cheaper

Leggo,

Yes! Know what you mean! Thanks for the link... So, according to that eBay auction result, some chap paid $810[USD] for that LP??? Me speechless, mon!!!

He shoulda checked the links here at Roots Archives... check 'dis: http://www.reggaerecord.com/en/catalog/ ... code=76471

From my calculations, that's about $23 [USD], or am I wrong?

Dublp,

OK, so there's this version of the LP that you're referring to:

http://www.downbeat-special.co.uk/DUB/italdub.html

Downbeat has it "titled" as Ital Dub...

Of course, here on RA, the only reference to "Ital Dub" as an album/LP is by Augustus Pablo: http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1177

RA also lists the Studio One Dub LP, only under the "Ital Sounds and System" version: http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2086

So, is there a version I'm missing that you're refering to?

Yes TJ, that's the repress. Like a print of Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, it ain't worth the same as the original!

And I also wondered if this Ital Sounds was the same LP as the later Ital Dub. Is it?

I'll need to check the matrix numbers but I have 2 copies of the Ital Dub album one in a black "Look Listen and Learn" overprinted sleeve and one a white label which I got in Peckings which Mr Peckings said Mrs Dodd had pressed up in London from the original stampers because she really liked the record- the reason I bought it was that the other copy jumps. I think they will be the same as Ital Sounds and System though. Great, great mellow dub album, I love it, but a far cry from the Scientists of this world!

Lionvibes can be good if you really want the tune but often i find their stuff is overpriced, any thoughts?
