The great (as an artist and human being...) BB Seaton just released his anthology on his own legendary Soul Beat label. 49 tracks, at least half of them being heavyweight roots killers from back in the days...

Just seen it on his myspace few minutes ago, great news as it's a crucial artist, i'd love to see him at a gig in France but unfortunately, he's not well-known here and it seems that there's no promoter to set up a concert with him.

True ton1,

it's amazing how people don't realize how important this man has been in JA music !!! He's been recording for almost fifty years,introduced Jackie Mittoo to Coxsone, auditionned the Heptones or Delroy Wilson, wrote hundreds of hits for almost as many artists (he wrote a huge part of his friend Ken Boothe's hits), leaded two of the greatest vocal groups in JA music history : the Gaylads and the Conscious Minds, produced so many wonderful songs on his Soul Beat and Roots International labels,... and there's much more to be said.

And above all, he is one the nicest, kindest, wisest and humblest person I was ever blessed to meet. And what a voice...

I discussed with him via email few months ago and i must say you're right, kind and humble are the words.
