to me it is the most outstanding but yet still the most overlooked band that ever came out of the usa.there was recently a petered attempt at reuniting them for the dreadstock festival in california.yeah keep the boogie going actually was released by haile maskell the bass player and first lead singer before he migrated to the usa.dem oh bwoy the guy can sing.i have been in regular mail contact with him for quite some years now.
my dream would be to reunite the rastafarians and jah malla ,my two best regae outfits in the usa
this lp "oethodox"is awesome to me

The "ORTHODOX" lp has one of the greatest covers front & back...
In the original press, there is an insert about each member (including their TRIBE) and the insert also lists Ras Midas (Ras Midas & The Bridge) as singer...I have a live tape from New Mexico (1981?) and some live footage on a DVD that also includes the 60 Minutes episode on RASTAFARI soon after Bob Marley's passing...More history? Check Ras Kiddus' (not Kiddus I) lp "Son of a Slave"...This lp features Haile Maskel, Herb Daly and some of the other members of THE RASTAFARIANS...Ras Kiddus is the drummer for Ras Michael & The Sons Of Negus on the back of the LOVE THY NEIGHBOR lp....6 degrees of Separation!!!!

hi orthodox reuben, that would be great if i could have some of those stuff you are talking abou
iam amad mad mad(i really mean with the full force of the word)of the rastafarians which album's sleeve is even worth much more than the price of the record.i haven't never seen so striking a sleeve in my life.i have talked to haile maskell on the phone times and times again in terms trying to reunite the band.but he seems to be the most reluctant.those cats are the most talented artists evoving in the usa i have ever seen.would be great to see them at last on footage and have their new mexico concert.
love

I just found Raskidus - "the Roots Connection" (Son Of Slave) on CD, it seems to be bootleg, it is a pressed CD-R and has great sound quality, It has same exact Art & Track list as the LP, but with 1 extra track, anyone know if the LP has this extra track on it ? It is in my opinion the best track on the disk.
