it's really hard to choose one lp from the early 80s period, as this was a great era for reggae in my opinion. my favorites are lps produced by junjo and linval thompson, such as:

johnny osbourne - fally lover + never stop fighting + nightfall
don carlos - day to day living
freddie macgregor - big ship
hugh mundell - mundell
michael prophet - righteous are the conquerer + self-titled
barrington levy - englishman + robinhood + poor man style
cultural roots - hell a go pop
wayne jarrett - chip in
wailing souls - firehouse rock + inchpinchers
linval thompson - baby father + look how me sexy

these are all personal favorites that i feel are on the same level with each other, so i can't name one as my top pick.

Gotta love Big Ship, Firehouse Rock, D. Carlos, and the B. Levy stuff. As for ones not mentioned yet...

[cover=608,721][cover=640,755][cover=1198,1380][cover=5343,4149][cover=325,373][cover=339,390][cover=2591,2984][cover=800,929]

Lots of other great Wackies stuff from this era. Too many great compilations to mention as well.

If I only had to choose one I would probably (today) be;
[cover=601,711]

For me it's the perfect deejay-album.
