how do you rate robert french?

I have listened to a few songs by robert french and he sounds fantastic has he got many hit songs and is he a big artist on the reggae scene.
He was big enough back in the 80's and had a few LP's released. I only have the one LP of him on Midnite Rock.
Think he is more involved on the production side of things nowadays with his "Ffrench" record label.
