Hello all,
Can anybody help me to identify this wonderful tune?
'Hey Mr Walker
I like your daughter
I used to tell her
That I'm a welder
That was a lie sah,
I'm just a singer
In a roots rock reggae band
Now I'm asking for her hand'.

An absolutely killer rhythm; full of joy. Wow, let me tell you they don't make them like this any more. I thank God or whoever for letting my ears be blessed with this one...

The vocalist sounds like Johnny Osbourne.
Rodigan played this a lot in 1981.

Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi Chris,
yes, this is Johnny Osbourne's "Mr. Walker" 7" smash from 1979 also to be found on the album 'Folly Ranking' (later also on 'Musical Chopper') produced by thenPrince/nowKing Jammys.
Great song, great riddim.
Greetings
