Not a review as such, its a pretty interesting compilation, withdrawn because of legal reasons. i believe it was a guy called cameron, saxophonist, who took them to court for issuing it. i like the track by the psalms the most, its a hit and miss record, but not something to avoid either, if you could find a copy that is

its an awesome compilation it opened up more doors to reggae, making me believethat there are hidden and lost tracks from unknown artists. i have a copy of this cd scale from 1 - 10 i give it a 9.

Wow $61 for a CD ! But this V/A is a killer (have an mp3 copy) and if I had no chance to find it, maybe i would pay this price. Fortunately I live in France where Makasound CDs are a bit more widespread than everywhere else and I know i'll find it cheaper one day or another, i'm a patient man.

Hey Todd

Played it this morning and have to agree with arize_rootsman. Excellent stuff.
The only track I'm not so keen on is "Black Casablanca" by Bogart, although I think that is probably just personal taste on my part.

Current favourite is "Wolf & Sheep Clothin'" by Upright Foundation.

Since this CD was taken off the market, its become quite rare, and for that same reason many people are after it.. You can't get those tunes anywhere else unless you get the original vinyl which will cost a fortune (dubs included though :)).. and yes.. there are people that want the 'original' cd rather than get a cd-r.. just like people wanting original vinyl rather than a repress!

imo, great music on it.. the kind of roots music I love (apart from 3 or 4 tunes)

61 usd is a lot, but it's sold for more, will probably sell for more in the future (There are rare CDs that sell for lots of money!).. and it's up to him whether he thinks its worth that much or more or whatever..

Firstly, i do want originals either on vinyl and CDs and i know the "Wanted" story. Secondly, I know CDs that sell for a lot more, that's not new to me. And thirdly I've never criticize his purchase.
It's not because you buy and sell for high price on ebay that you must feel criticized.

I personnaly don't like those kind of prices but i'm conscious that most people are willing to pay a lot for some albums or singles.
The only thing i said is that I think $61 is a lot for a CD, a lot for an LP too but it's rarer for CDs, so i'm underlining it here, nothing more ! And contrary to the vinyl, the sound of a CD-R is the exact copy of the original (though you don't have the booklet).

Well, nevermind, I like this thread cause few month ago we were asking ourselves with friends if that CD (that some of them have) would became a collector and here we have the evidence.

And i'm pretty sure i'll find it for a few €bucks in the next few years, i've far enough music at home to let the music find me more than the contrary, I'm not a selecta so i don't need tunes "right here right now".
