what do i need to use 2 screen? when i got this computer it had 2 screen plugs but one didnt work and they were not close to eachother i think one is on board and one is extra.

oh, yea and the one on board didnt work.. i dont know much abut inside a pc need a little help

If you want a simple way to use two screens get an Apple Mac. Most have the ability to run two screens. My MacBook Pro for instance allows a second screen to be plugged in, with the second screen being an extended desktop so you get acres of space. Macs have been able to do this for a very long time.

Owning a Mac means you don't need to know much about PCs as they simply don't require all the fiddling with drivers and stuff that PCs running Windows need. And they are immune to malware like virus and spyware.

But if you can't get a Mac, Don, PM me and I'll try and help you sort the PC!

I guess you must go to the Control Panel of Windows and try to find the screen configuration ; i'm using Linux so I can't check but i've done it a few times and it was quite simple (just some buttons to push )

ok, sounds interesting, sounds like i could do that, i just need to find a place for the second screen first they both kinda big still (living in past) i will try plug it next days so i will come back and say whats not working... somebody told me i have to go in "dos" to change that function..i have no idea about "dos"

Also note, if your video card is light on memory, it'll really struggle to deal with two big screens, especially if they are set at a high res.

If you have a screen at the top and another on the side, it basically means you have onboard graphics AND a pci-e/agp graphics card.
The top one shouldnt work, basically because the card is more powerful and means the one onboard is disabled automatically as soon as a graphics card is plugged in; unless that graphics card has two ports there is no way to have two monitors connected.

Bullit is right. On a Windows machine you need a graphics card with two video ports side by side - on the same card - to do this two screen trick.

and if you have 2 ports on your graphic card, one is VGA (blue) and one is DVI (white and bigger than VGA). If you have 2 cathodic screens (not LCD) you'll need a DVI to VGA adapter to plug the second screen.
