last what i hear was his family telling promoters to keep him away from alcohol because in the madhouse he didnt have access to that and one bottle beer would mash all the works and would throw him back again, now looking on foreign & yard dancehall scene every one will have to admit that the man is dun if him dont have no one who really take care of him. hopefully he is chilling out somewhere tryin get tings together.

Yes the man has been unwell for a long time, unlike others who made it Uptown Junior is still an unfortunate sufferer.
Many still sing of hard times but have bettered them selves to live and move outta West Kingston to an Uptown style. Can those really be called 'Roots' artist where as Junior will always be 'Roots'

Of course they are roots, as long as they remember their hard time roots.

Many of us start working class poor and manage to better ourselves. As long as we remember the sufferation when we deal with those still in unfortunate times we are still roots.

Those that move up and then turn their back on the sufferers are not roots.

Sugar Minott may not be a sufferer still, but I get the feeling he has remained true to his roots.
