When Rhythm Was King- More sweet Studio 1 please?

Hey folks. Just picked up the new Studio 1 comp...
[cover=7792,5144]
Absolutely fantastic material here! To my ears, not much sounds sweeter than this type of early Studio 1 sound... all the original riddims that became remade into the big dancehall hits later on. Sugar Minott's "Showcase" and "At Studio 1" albums come to mind, as well as Carlton & The Shoes "Love Me Forever," and Bob Andy's "Songbook."
Can anyone give me some more recommendations of S1 material in the same vein? Perhaps J. Osbourne's "Truth & Rights?" What else has that lively, so-sweet-you-want-to-cry, early dancehall vibe? I can't get enough of it! Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks Leggo. I have Roots Vol. 1 and it's AMAZING stuff, but I'm looking for the dance floor filler type tunes- the ones that make you grab your girl and rock all night
If Roots 3 is similar to Roots 1, then I wouldn't say that it fits that description necessarily (excellent though it is).
Any suggestions in the S1 dancehall vein?

Right, excellent sound but that's not really "early Studio One"

When Rhythm Was King is a nice album for newbies.
If you want to swing ina the dance than you have to concentrate on the late '79 /early 80 lp's.

Or, at the other end of the timescale, maybe what you really want is Ska or Rocksteady?
Try playing this LP without moving your feet...

Very true. For dancehall/rub-a-dub sounding stuff (sort of) S1 was ahead of the curve, but for S1 material in general it's towards the later end of their golden years. I stand corrected
Thanks Leggo and others for your suggestions! Others feel free to add.
That Lone Ranger set looks like a winner. Also, the Studio One Rockers comp looks like great stuff too. No opinions on the Johnny Osbourne album?
