i still don't have any studio one

..shame on me, but on over 500 reggae records i don't have any studio one...yet... i'm looking for the first, but it must be the best...just consider that i am keen to heavy basslines so keep it in mind while shooting your advise !!

where to start with such a great label, and such fabulous music

why not begin with 'studio one roots vol. 1', that should be a good start, the soul jazz label

thanks, i've read the tracklist and it must be great music but the point is also to have a real studio one record !!

It really depends on what you like.

My first studio 1 album was "presenting the gladiators". still like at lot it after 20+ years, next one was "born to love" by slim smith (rocksteady, but a killer...)

All kinds of different styles released by the man called coxsone dodd.

Many are available on represses of varying (read poor) quality. But the original are all much better pressings than you might expect given Studio One's bad reputation for wax quality. Be prepared to remortgage your house, sell your car, deal crack and put your girlfriend to work on the street in order to pay the VERY HIGH prices even VG copies fetch nowadays.
