MATRIX OF JAMAICAN RECORDS.....????

Hello.can anybody give me some information about the matrix of jamaican records of the 60 s 70 s?I know that ervery record has an own matrix but I heard something about a book of jamaican music where many records are listed?If thats true where I could get this book or those books?Or where can I find out artist and titel when I have a marix.Perhaps there is a homepage?Thanks very much for any information.regards thore

Roots Knotty Roots is the book you search. Only 7" and 12" from late 50's to 85 are listed. Check Nighthawk website for information about it. There is a book and a CD rom version. The CD version is way better as you can search by label, Mat#, ect ect. You can also dowload the last entry with the CD.

when you say only 7 and 12s are listed, do you mean only 45rpms or do you include 12 inch 33s?

The 'RKR' database lists all (known/identifiable) singles that have been released in JA up to 1980 and gives their matrix and labels of Jamaican and UK origin. When 12" is said that means 12" single (or disco if you prefer that term). Album formats are not listed in the data of 'RKR'.
