i know many of you know the song"big bamboo" is an old mento song.but there are several other versions among which one i came across and in which the singer who sounds like lord laro say"tommy mc cook is on my side.and no doubt that tommy is on sax).but the lyrics have got a sexual connotation i can't remember all he said.
who can give a clue about that.the tempo is of course mento

Hi fadel,
"I asked my woman what could I do
To make her loving and keep her true
She told me 'Honey all I want from you
Is just a little, little piece of The Big Bamboo'
"The Big Bamboo it grows good and long
The Big Bamboo it grows good and strong
The Big Bamboo stand up straight and tall, and
The Big Bamboo pleases one and all
"Tommy McCook is at my side
Blow your sax but don't run and hide
You blow your sax with a nice sweet tone
But your Bamboo is as big as your saxophone
[Chorus]
"You say 'This one I could afford'
All who listening to this record
Something at my side is oh so wrong
The bass man Bamboo touching the ground
[Chorus]
"Ladies and Gents, before I go
There is something I'd like you to know
But when I tell you this one you going to bawl
Creator don't have no Bamboo at all!"
[Chorus]
So - Lord Creator (aka Kendrick Patrick) then. Around 1964 I think.
Cheers

It shouldn't be a problem getting hold of a copy fadel.
Most stores that stock the 7" repress are in Japan, but there are a few others you could try depending on where you live:

http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=2764
http://www.funhouse.fr/index.adml?s=155 ... =21&f=1556
But if it's a CD you want, this one ought to be in print worldwide:
