dont know the name of song or artist but the chorus is something about 'burning the cane'. only heard it once but loved it

Could be "Police in Helicopter" by John Holt.
tune goes - "if you continue to burn up the herb we a go burn down the cane field"
if this is the tune you can get it on Total Recall vol.1 (VP Records) or "Police in Helicopter" on Greensleeves.
