The tune is called Young Generation by Musical Youth.
Musical Youth were a young Band from Birmingham,England.the video on you tube is from a 80's tv series called deep roots music which was presented by Mikey Dread.I watched this when i was about 11 years old and is now available on DVD.
The guy in the video with glasses is Dennis the lead singer from Musical Youth.Sugar Minott is also in the studio wearing a brown hat.
You can find the tune on Musical youth's first album which i can't remember the name but sounds nothing like the version on youtube,i don't beleive the dub version exists someone can correct me if they know any different.

i have the first deep roots music dvd but when is the second dvd coming out were prince jammy is at the controls?

I have been trying to track this one down as well,no one has it.I don't beleive there is a part 2.
A DVD was released with all episodes in one package by channel 4,this is the one you are after.I have tried to order one from Lovefilm.com,will keep you posted .

The bass line is very similar to a sped up Rasta Pon Top with the Twinkle Brothers ... or perhaps even the 12" steppers cut.

The 'Deep Roots Music Pts. 1-6' on three DVDs have been available already. There is going to be a second coming in 2008 (at least that's if you believe the rumours).

The dub version sounds so much better than MY's version-those horns are so sweet. I've actually been on the lookout for this tune for years now - unsuccessfully though.
