I bought a very old inaudible VA tape today from a friend,
coz it had 1 song I've never heard before- Save The Masses by Andy Shurman.

vs 1 goes like:
day by day there is trouble facin d yutes
day by day there is trouble harassin d yutes
hear d masses dem a cryin gnashin dem teeth....

ch: Is it not wrong*2 livin to die
bla bla...

any one got info about this artist or this tune?

d mp3 didn't come out clear at all.

pon googling today, i came across d same name on some forum.
there was a link to a tune from d same artist but it had expired (had poor quality too)
from what i read, he might be from nigeria..

Yes, he's from Nigeria. Had a monstrous hit album that contained "save the masses" and "kinky reggae man" in the late eighties on the Tabansi records label and then disappeared.

That album was a hit alright. I wish I can lay my hands on it again. ras_gaks give it another try.

Andy Shurman hail from Isialangwa in Ngwa land.After his first Album Save the masses which he did not profit much because of the music promoter who promoted his music who took higher intrest,almost 90% intrest of what he make in the album.He was broke and managed to released a second album in 94/95 and he had no money to promote it and he did not want promoter any more because of the first lost.So that's why he couldnt publish it then there comes his down fall.He is 48 now and I beleive he will make a come back soon.I have all his album.

If anyone can locate this guy Andy Shurman, I will be glad to work with him. I will revamp and relunch him. He's got wisdom and he is philosophical lyrics which made me want to work with him at all cost. I want to help him. If he is willing to do music again, let him reach me on chudinho@yahoo.com.
