I heard this song awhile back but don't know who it is or what it's called, maybe one of you experts on this forum could help me out ?

Lyrics go something like this:

There ain't no man, no man baby, who's got a sweet woman like you, your every poor mans dream, your every rich mans prayor.......

Hook:

I aint never never found me a girl, to love me like you do, your love is like voodoo

I've got this song somewhere. Dennis Brown's voice is singing it in my head as I read the lyrics but I can't find it and can't be sure I'm right about that.

I believe, though, that it is a cover of a US soul record.

Now I am thinking that there's a version of this song by Horace Andy

But then maybe I am thinking of ain't no sunshine since she's gone...

yes I think that's a cover of Al Green's "I've never found a girl" great tune, the Archives search gives Cornell Campbell.
Cheers

It's definately not Horace Andy, or Cornell Campbell, voice is similar to Dennis's, but it isn't him either, I was able to get the song, but it is on the Mikey Dread "Christmas Special" 1978 brodcast on JBC radio. If you have the full show ? then the song comes on at about 4:05 min. into the show. Hopefully this helps.

It's the remake of the old soul hit. It sounds like Dennis Brown and it's from 1978.

I think I have it here on a 12 inch - somewhere - I'm trying to find it!
