dear bredrens
I have that Fire is burning album and it is supposedly from 1976. I am a bit surprised because some of the songs have syndrums and sound more likely 79/80. What info do you have ?
thanks
ps : good album by the way

Hi Benjamin,
I don't know why this one is claimed to be from 1976 on RA, it was recorded and released in 1981 !

I LOVE Freddie McKay!
I've got 'Picture on the Wall' from Derrick Harriott's shop in Kn - the grooves were filled with brown resin of some sort - I had to wash it. It played OK after that / also Lonely Man on Cd - some really great tunes on that and another CD collection i can't remember the name of.
How's the voice and playing on this Fire is Burning? - is it CD or vinyl?
the syn drum detail is a bit off putting but he had such a great voice. Don't know why he wasn't hugely successful.
Not much bio on the man.
Anyone?

Fire is Burning is one of my fav's, it's amazing, raw roots from the early 80', with deep bass and great voice. It features a very nice reggae cover of "perhaps".
I don't think it ever came out on cd, I have it in mp3 from a vynil rip.
In the same style you should also check harsh words which is really excellent. I also advice Creation, a great LP featuring the great song "yesterday" (not the beatles one). I got it for 5 dollars in good shape in Montreal !
Concerning picture on the wall, I had a question : my vynil (studio 1) sounds good but it seems the voice is too low, a bit hidden by the instruments, do you have the same problem with your copy ?

There's a Canadian 12 as well with a killer Tubby mix.

@Benjamin.
I'd have to listen again - but the whole thing is very mute and bass heavy and I've come to like it that way. Remember I had to wash the vinyl before I could even play it.
Wish i knew what that brown silt covering the disc was!
Great tunes though.
I would be happy to receive the blessing of the Fire Burning vinyl rip in some manner...

@ACEtone
The sound I have is, as often with mp3, not perfect but really good enough to enjoy the quality of this album. The bass is not too loud on my side. Just pm me.
