Hi there!
I live in Germany and won 4 LPs on ebay from a US seller.
His shipping price is 32 $ USPS First Class Mail International.
Could you please let me know if this price is acceptable or if it is overpriced.
THX in advace,
nuff greetings,
I-Lion

Sounds pretty over priced if you ask me.

Mind you I did hear that "Fed Ex were merging with "UPS" and were are going to create a new company called "Fed Up" :)

Seriously though, that does sound steep.

Sounds like a signed for mail thing - probably to cover his ass should you decide to paypal chargeback. First time buying off the dude?

If you have an idea of what 4 LPs weigh, you can check usps.com. The price sounds a bit high unless it's a signed for delivery, as jordandance suggests.

First class mail with registration for 4 albums from the US should cost not more than 25$ when sent by US Post. That's what I have paid from time to time when winning auctions on ebay.
You better beware of the customs though. Fed Ex and UPS will charge you full customs and tax (19% for Germany) for the total bill.

If you had a good price, he must be trying to make money on the shipping cost. Really annoying when you come accross a seller like this coz you know you're buying to a kind of crook and so you can't ask him to send it without being recorded.
Best thing to do is to ask for a recorded mail only and when it has arrived, if the cost is really inferior to what you paid, ask to refund the difference and threaten him to leave a negative feedback if not. I think ebay rules are changing and a seller can't leave a negative feedback to a buyer anymore so there's no risk for you. Moreover, if you don't sell anything, you don't care to have one or two negative feedbacks.

I really HATE sellers overcharging shipping cost !

The idea that a seller cant leave negetive feedback seems a bit silly to me.. What if the buyer doesnt pay or whatever, how will we know?

The seller can warn ebay and the buyer account can be closed if it comes up too often. Too much ebayers (buyers) want to leave a neg feedback but don't do it because they fear to have a neg feedback in return hence the high rate of most of the sellers (more than 99% most of the time) whereas some of them sell crappy vinyls presenting it as EX or NM copies and providing audio extract digitally denoised.

I read that piece of information on B&F board few days ago but did not verify it so I could be wrong.

...........we are all reggae buyers and many of us have experienced some sales too...it's easy to verify that ebay longside paypal drain in combination a lot of % from our deals, so IMO a fear overpricing over real shipping cost should not be considered a ripping but it must be made present to buyer PRIOR to bidding, otherwise it's an unwelcome surprise.......

...i don't belive it's the case to forward feedback blackmailing but sometimes a neutral could be an useful rating for some seller not so really reliable....

...ebay is setting all the rules as they like, it's their empire...
