Why do people talk non-stop and so loudly in a roots dance?

You know when you got a roots crowd their there for the music and not a gossip social network place to catch up on what colour shirt one of the big brother nobodies is wearing today, right across the dance floor like their talking to JAH or something. Its how you use your voice, some voices realy carry where as some you wont even notice.
As a tape man in the dance weather shaka or my crews sound they want me to tape it cos i get the best sound on the tape.I have been ambushed at a few dances jah shaka with johnny clarke with the ruff cut band down the holloway rocket some 10 odd years ago and cos the man at the mixing desk (hired hand) kept fiddling about with the knobs the sound wasnt happening, so i thought oh no im here for spare time not to do work, so i went near the back where the mixing desk was and just gave the man a look every time he wanted to twiddle the mixing desk, but he could not help himself, so i said "you touch the board again i am going to slam my tape machine on your fingers on the mixing desk" and he was thinking im some big super.
He could see and hear that after a few minutes johnny clarke was happy with the sound "set it set it" and the show went well.
Near the end when shaka was playing out the dance the promoters wanted my recording of the dance cos their mixing man had done a whoopsee on his recording right hear we have an ambush its all on the tape cos they nah get it.
.
There is a couple of things that have changed dances the smoking ban so they have to talk more were as before they would stick a ciggy or a spliff in their mouths and would not talk so loudly and so much. the other is having video in moblie phones its like when the dance is being filmed and how its being film so not as to impose on peoples space.
I dont think a roots sound wants drunks who cant handle their drink and popping pills it only leads to trouble, which is bad anuff with roots music`s rep anyway without people at the dance spoiling it for the others who want a break from babylons works and non stop media chat, let the mike man chat thats what hes there for.
Peace
