Why aren't off topic posts being bumped over to here???

Seems like every time I visit the 'reggae discussions' board
theres some promotion or general opinion related topic with like 25 replies.
Why aren't these being bumped to here, the 'OFF TOPIC' forum.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought 'on topic' was either site related material or actual reggae artist inspired chat/conversation.
I did not think this included gig promotions, how to play instruments, and opinionated rants.
Shame loyal members have to sift through the main page for pertinent info/topics.

Sometimes it's good to keep a topic in the main area to help things along. Otherwise it can get very quiet there. Plus many people don't visit the off topic area at all, so leaing a thread and then moving it LATER when more are following it can help to bring more over here.
And if the thread happnes to be posted by me and is promoting my first ever gig in Nottingham, then I won't move it.
Pure ego that one.

matthew I really understand your point of view and see some very reasonable points of view in what you wrote. I'm also sure other people think the same.
BUT if I can give you an advice, try to avoid posts that can hurt moderators sensibility. they just get records for what they do, no money at all, so I guess it is fair to let them doing what they want to do

about being friendly and try to help each other!
I have some experience in dealing with moderators so I just wanted to help people to keep it cool.

I've heard this argument somewhere else..."moderators don't get paid'.
Neither do the rest of us who spend hours a day on here. We all contribute.
And if this is true :
