What is your opinion of the Trojan Nyahbinghi box?
Any other Nyahbinghi albums. (Other than *Light Of Saba*)
Thanks

the trojan boxed set is decent. The best Nyahbinghi album I've come across so far is Churchical chants of the nyahbinghi- very authentic and powerful sound, recorded live during a groundation ceremony in Jamaica. It is the real thing.

Ites!
Nyahbinghi Box Set is a great collection dat besides includes Ras Michael & Sons Of Negus´ "Nyahbinghi" an Dadawah´s "Peace & Love" albums completely both
Yes-I! "Churchical Chants of the Nyabinghi" is pure groundation ting - a valuable an blessed recording. Nuh forget "Groundation" by Count Ossie & Mystic Revelation of Rastafari an also great is Rastafari Elders (RAS, 1990) featuring Ras Pidow
Of course, classic an crucial is Count Ossie & Mystic Revelation´s "Tales of Mozambique"

...........honest jons/uhuru released some nyabinghi records from a collective where leader is calvin "bubbles" cameron... there are 2 lps made under the name of wareika hill sounds plus several 12" and some other albums too, some of the tunes feature tony allen in person....very interesting stuff with authentic roots arrangements but in my opinion the (great) drumming sounds more north african that really jamaican....if u want the real jamaican vibes go and get the churchical chants lp mentioned before, that i decided to do not own on vinyl (until now) because it's a bit repetitive.......
but for me two of the most hypnotizing nyabinghi tunes ever are included in the oku onuora's pressure drop lp, beat yu drums and deconolization...absolutely a must !
...do someone ever heard of an Lp called higher binghi ?? ......i am curious about it...

Hi picaraza,
I totally agree with Dubmaster.
If you are interested about my comments you can check my page at:

And don't forget Count Ossie and Ras Michael too. They are both "reviewed" inside my web site.

I like about 30% of it (the trojan box) - some real good tunes but also a lot of filler imo.

Nyahbinghi to me is for those of or who practise Rastafarian faith. It is not Reggae music nor is it meant to be. Not at all knocking it or saying that it cant be listened too however, just putting out my view on it.
