To me 12" reggae single is one of the greatest innovations in music. The sound of 12" is very dynamic and you can get dub/toast on the same record.
Here are some of my favourite ones:
Michael Palmer - Don't Smoke The Seed
Don Carlos - Dance Gate
Black Uhuru/Yogi Bear - African Love
Heptones - Equal Rights
The last one has an unknown DJ. Can anyone help?
Hoplaa sano hevosmies.

Just about anything ont he Midnight Rock label on 12 inch is killa.
But 'Girlfriend' by Barry Brown is possibly my favourite from that catalogue.
And 'Joker Smoker' by Triston Palmer on GRED is murderous.

I personally like the 12 inch versions of 7 inch choons. They usually are extended play and go straight into dj cover. like both of these :
Jacob Miller - I'm just a dread 12" on Joe Gibs
Junior Murvin - Cool out son 12" on Joe Gibbs

Thanks guys.
Do you happen to know the DJ on Barrington Levy's Mary Long Tongue?
Just listening to Fred Locks: Voice Of The Poor/Levi Roots: Poor Man's Story.
After that Yellowman/Peter Metro: The Girl Is Mine.
Though at the extreme ends of seriousness, both are great stuff.
