Who are your favourite producers and why?

Earlier in the week there was a thread about George Phang and how he bought riddims from Sly and Robbie.Does putting your name to a label make you a producer?

I think the producer lifetime achievement should go to King Jammys,

Listen to a Jammys production whether it be 1979,1984,1987,you know it's him.

it was a short period, but duke reids productions at treasure isle are among my favourites. versioned countless times, a testament to the quality of these productions. although much later, i have a maytones LP 'keep the fire burning', arranged and produced by duke reid, anyone have any info to share on this release? thanks.

you can nearly always idetify a tune produced by lee perry. I love the black ark sound sooo very much.

yes pete, the sound that lee perry created at the black ark is in a class of its own. magical.sometimes i listen to nothing but black ark productions for days. what a treat for the listener.
