Royalties

There have been quite a few court cases recently with people being sued for royalties.
As reggae is riddim based do the original composers of the riddim get a cut each time a song is released based on their original riddim?

coxsone neva vex when him riddim get relick because anytime a riddim get a new lick coxsone is selling nuff originals.

i used to work in a record shop and as soon people get to know theres an older version to the one they hear they always wanna hear the old one sameway

Coxsone started seeking royalties for his riddims in the 90's,producers started putting c s dodd on the labels as co writer
