Ites
I just bought Phil Pratt's Pressure Sound compilation (Safe Travel LP) and I am a big fan of that music. This is called rocksteady but a lot of these old songs are so roots, even in this early period. I was never really interested in this period but now I'd like to get a few advices from you. Tell me about other albums that have this musical quality and this "pre-roots" vibe. Thanks

hi benjamin

The trojan Rocksteady Box Set is a good compilation.
A good way to get introduced to rocksteady vibes.

Also try "Ba Ba Boom Time" (Treasure Isle),
"Red Bum Ball" (Pressure Sounds),
"Rocksteady Intensified" (WIRL),
"Mojo Rocksteady" (Studio 1),
"Girls Like Dirt, 26 Rocksteady Shots",
"Put It On, This Is Rocksteady" (Island)

One Love

thanx dreadrecords, but the topic was about this very Safe Travel lp and yes absolutly amazing tunes. I asked for other releases with the same musical quality.. I think i already heard this caltone, I'll try again.
About the raw roots compilation, if I remember, it is not rocksteady but a mix of classical and modern reggae.
Blessings and welcome to any other idea !
