Don't know if anyone has seen this "new" Joe Gibbs release (due out later this month, 5/19/08) yet:

Yeah, I saw that just the other day on another website.

Great track listing but I wonder how well produced this CD issue is.

Too many of these recent CD re-issues are really poorly mastered.

Not just VP but lots of re-issue labels in many genres.

I met someone recently who has worked in music restoration for a long time. He works for companies who want to release stuff that is only available in damaged master tapes, old vinyl or even cassette tape.

He works wonders, amazing stuff. But he says he can't get much work nowadays as the record biz can't, or more likely, won't pay for this amount of effort. They prefer to make fast money on the back of the music's name and fame without caring that they are dishing up distorted shite to the buyer.

There are exceptions, Auralux for instance claim to put a lot of effort into making good re-issues.

even I-self do sometimes together wid dem some great work, yunno

whats wrong with vp? the reissues i have sound great

granted alot of low quality reissues are out now days but at least the music is available for the masses
