The different threads about Culture make me think of something I was wondering few years ago but was not using R-A forum :
Is there a vocal version to that amazing tune ?
Double Dub can be heard on the V/A Sounds of Jamaica Top Ten

no vocal version for this track.
it's a kind of medley of mittoo tunes
first darker shade of black then hot milk and finally drum song
off course those 3 riddims have been used for many versions

yes algoriddim is stating that but I didn't check for hot milk and darker shad of black, and for Drum song, I don't recognized the riddim, I should try again...
I'll post a soundsample this evening.

it looks like you have a mispressed label or wrong titles on your mp3 files...
on this album there's a song by horace andy

ohhh oh ohh looks like there's a problem in my files
On the "sounds of jamaica" I have a song called "old broom" by H. Andy but doesn't look like H. Andy
http://revolutionarydream.free.fr/sampl ... _Broom.mp3
I just found among my mp3 a file called "new broom" which sound a little more slow but is exactly the same as "Double dub" (seems to be a cut from a 12" (there is one on Hungry Town but it's labelled like if it was on S1)
http://revolutionarydream.free.fr/sampl ... _broom.mp3
I have an other mp3 called new broom part 2 which has the same riddim but is slighty different
http://revolutionarydream.free.fr/sampl ... Part_2.mp3
So my "Double Dub" file is mislabeled and should be "old broom" by Horace Andy (as stated on studio1style.com)
http://revolutionarydream.free.fr/sampl ... le_Dub.mp3
And so the real "Double Dub" is not really what was interesting, what is great is "new broom" or "old broom" by Horace Andy and it's not a dub but a 12" extended play
Actually, I'm just realizing I have an mp3 of that tune, the A side is New Broom, the B side is the version.

the first sample you posted is the cables - my life is a hard life coming from the very same "sounds of jamaica top ten".
the 12 inch version (you posted) is really similar to the studio one cuts of new broom and new broom part 2. but I've never seen such a studio one 12 inch... I don't know if it's the poor quality sound but the dub part looks a bit different from the usual studio one dub parts.
but it's easy to make mistakes with files... like in this topic where bonga said it was a 12 inch but honestly I only know about 7 inches... if he could tell me how looks his 12 inch I'd be very happy cos it must be really rare

finally, new broom is a great great song and the instrumental is greater... but there are no other version on studio one
